Powerful car for the enthusiastic buyers
The 2007 CLS-Class gets more heady engines for the model year. Available in two trims, the CLS550 coupe gets a 5.5L V8 and the CLS63 AMG gets a 6.3L V8. Known for its elegance the CLS-Class carries over its eye-catching profile.

Inspired by the E500 sedan, the radical-upscale CLS-Class with its coupe-style roofline is a 4-seater, with four doors. Though the cars carry the looks of a coupe the four door style resemble the sedan styling.

With an athletic visage and a level of luxury that almost surpasses the best in its class; this sedan expresses poise and class. It has a basic warranty of 48 months/ 50,000 miles.

New heady V8 engines

The CLS-550 sports a potent 5.5 liter (L) with die cast all alloy block and aluminum block heads. The V8 pumps out 382 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 391 pound-feet (lb-ft) of torque between 2800 rpm and 4800 rpm.

The low rpm engine has sequential multipoint fuel ignition and twin-spark ignition system. Its throttle is controlled electronically.

It mates with a 7-speed automatic transmission (Sportronic manual-shift). EPA estimated fuel economy amounts to 14/22 mpg (city/highway).

The CLS63 AMG is now equipped with a powerful 6.3L DOHC engine and generates 507 hp at 6,800 rpm. The AMG built V8 engine gives up 465 pound-feet (lb-ft) of torque at 5800 rpm. It teams up with an AMG enhanced 7-speed AT.

Swooping roofline
The drop-dead gorgeous coupe has the lines of a coupe and seating of a sedan. Its low roof and high belt line stands out in competition.

There are little dashes of chrome and wood trim feature on the doors and center console. The wood trim on the dashboard distinguishes the CLS from the rest of its family.

The CLS –Class offers a relaxed-smooth-luxurious driving experience.

The AMG tuned suspension is tuned to handle higher handling pressure and its monster 6.3L engine roars to keep the other cars trailing behind.

Despite being almost 5 inches longer than the E-Class, the CLS feels agile and nimble, and takes in a curve with grace and panache.
